Robotic Explores Camp 11-14 yr. olds
Explore the methods of the engineering process by learning the basics of programing and
design. In this camp students will develop robots to explore and get information about
various environments. They will learn problem solving strategies using both LEGO
hardware and LEGO MINDSTORMS software. Students should leave the camp with
new strategizing skills, team working ability, practical knowledge of programing basics,
and creativity.
$150 (+$25 non-refundable supply fee)
Part I In-habitation Arduino 14-19 yr. olds
Small microcontrollers are responsible for the functioning of a large amount of day to day
technology. This camp will provide students with a functional ability to use the open source
Arduino technology. Students will be taught fundamentals of the C imperative computer
programming language, concepts of resistance, current, and voltage, basic circuit analysis and
design, and usage of analog sensors. Knowledge and skills will be developed through examining,
evaluating, and reacting to unique environments and will be transferable to many different
technologies, uses, and fields. Along with the lessons they learned, students will go home with
some hardware to implement their knowledge, including their own microcontroller.
$200 (+$65 non-refundable supply fee)
Part 2 In-habitation Arduino 14-19 yr. olds
This camp will help students with some hardware and software knowledge bring their skills to a
new level. It will build off of the first Arduino class and will continue the theme of inhabiting
harsh environments. The environments will become even more taxing and intricate requiring the
use of more advanced components and programing methods. Software skills will be expanded into
object oriented programming and digital sensors will be introduced. NOTE: Some basic
knowledge of imperative coding and electricity is required. Students do not have to attend the first
camp but it is recommended. We do not want to leave students behind but it is important that the
curriculum is kept on schedule. If the first Arduino camp is not attended you will need to add
another $65 supply fee.
$250 (+$35 non-refundable supply fee)
